Doctor Visit

Thursday night I just could not sleep. I was so miserable that I kept tossing and turning all night long. I could not breathe, I felt like something was sitting/pushing down on my chest, I couldn’t stop coughing, and my nose was stopped up. It was awful. I set an appointment with my doctor for Friday at 11am. I also decided to go ahead and take Taylor to the doctor as well; she had a little running nose and a small cough, but it was more… if I’m going, why not take her too. But she is a very “busy” girl and can be a handful, so if I was going I needed someone to go with me to help me with her when I am being seen. Jamie talked to his boss/manager/whatever he is called and they let him take off a few hours in the middle of the day to go with us.

Jamie’s new job at Capital One Auto right off the tollway, but since I was in Sherry’s car I could not go on it. She does not have a tolltag on her car (like we do on ours) and I don’t carry cash on me. I had to go a roundabout way to pick up Jamie before we head over to the doctor’s office, that I picked out close to his work. It ended up taking me twice the time to get to his work than it would if I had gone on the tollway. I was late so I called the doctor to let them know and they just switched my appointment time to 11:30 instead. We didn’t arrive until 11:45 and the doctor had just left for lunch. We went ahead and filled out new paperwork so it would be ready, but we had to wait until 1pm for the next available appointment.

It took awhile waiting and we didn’t get done until about 3pm. He said I had an asthma attack, but that my lungs, ears, throat, and nose look fine. So he gave me an inhaler, had me do a stronger dose at the office with a breathing treatment. He would then like a follow up appointment for Tuesday. Taylor was fine and he didn’t see the need to give her any medicine at all.

Today I went back to my doctor for the follow-up and really didn’t feel any better. The initial breathing treatment helped a bunch, but that is all that has gotten better. My voice is cracking and starting to fade. He said I have laryngitis and gave me a steroid shot to try to help it. I don’t feel so bad right now, except for my throat area. It just feels like you might think it would, like its kind of swollen and a little hard to breathe out of… and my voice sounds horrible.

Well, I think dinner is ready so I think I will end it with that. But I sure hope my voice comes back and my throat feels better soon.

Singing

Jamie left for Europe on Thursday. He is going with his church choir to Germany, Austria, Czech Republic, and Switzerland. I’ve been trying to stay busy so I dont get so lonely. I spent most of the weekend over at moms house. Dad gave her some parts and she didnt quite know how to do it, so I had to go over and show/help her with them. I only did six of them and made $54, no so bad considering it probably took MAYBE 3 hours max with “slacking off” time in there too. Thats why I like doing parts. They are so easy for me to do, and they are worth so much money.

In case anyone is wondering, my dads company is a manufacturing company that creates, molds, and assembles computer test chips for companies like texas instruments, amd, and such that eventually get put into plasma tvs. Whenever he has extra work that needs to be done that his in-house workers cant finish in time, he gives the work to my sister, me, my mom, and whoever else he decides to let do them. I just did $2000 worth of work in a week and a half. The only bad part is that we dont ALWAYS have parts. but when it rains, it pours. :)

On fathers day we went over to my dads house and cooked fajitas. They are so good. lol. We buy the meat from a little mexican store where they marinate the meat and stuff for us. Its kind of expensive ($4.00/lbs), but its really good so its worth it to me. My sister brought a cheesecake, and I tried it. yep, I like it. I guess being pregnant has changed that. I used to hate cheesecake and now I think its good. lol.

I found this picture of jamie on the tour website. They update the site every night with new pictures and a summary of what they did during the day. It’s nice to be able to see and hear about their trip on a regular basis. the picture is of Jamie singing his solo on the rhine river. I think he looks really happy in this picture. :) I miss him alot and I didnt want him to go… but I was just being jealous and selfish. but I really do hope he has fun while he is over there. I love him, and I hope he knows that.

Proud of Him

I had my gestational diabetes test done Thursday. At my last appointment they gave me this orange stuff to drink 45 minutes before my next appointment and then they would take my blood to test for it. Most people that I had heard from said the stuff was disgusting, but mine was pretty good. It basically tasted like orange soda. The only hard part of it was having to chug the whole thing in only 5 minutes. lol. I should get those results on Monday. Hopefully everything is a-okay. I just found out I have B negative blood type, which means at my next appointment I get a nice shot of Rhogam. :( That sucks. but I understand the benefits for having it and will get it no matter what. I was just hoping I didnt have to get it. For those who dont know what that means, since I’m a negative… I am missing a certain protien, which if the baby has positive blood my body will try to attack the foreign object. but the shot will prevent that from happening. We wont know if she has positive or negative until after she is born OR the blood type of any future baby. So we have to get the shot just for protection.

Jamie got a job. I’m so proud of him. He just left for the orientation. He is the new server for Pappasitos, which is an expensive mexican restaurant. It’s probably more famous counterpart would be Pappadeaux the seafood place? If maybe youve heard of that instead. They own a whole bunch of other Pappas restaurants but eh. Well it was probably the most expensive (meaning better tips, lol) place he applied at. I’m just happy for him. and very proud.

Alright. Well I have to clean our room, so I can work on some parts. Ciao.

Dallas Mavericks

I moved in with Jamie a week or two ago. I’ve been so busy with school that I havent had much time online. Friday is the last day all of my work needs to be turned in, so after that I should be okay. I had a job interview with Old Navy and it seemed to go very well. The manager said she would love to hire me, but wants to check with the other manager to make sure she hadnt hired a bunch of other people first. She said they would call me back to let me know when I could start. It makes me happy, but I’m still worried about not getting hired just because I’m pregnant. I have about 3 years cashier/customer service experience (plus other steady work history) and my schedule is wide open and flexible. Pregnancy is the only thing standing in my way. and its not a problem for me because I’m a hard worker and plan to take only the minimum amount of time off when I have our baby. I just need the money so I can buy our little girl stuff before she gets here. Jamie has applied to several (like 15+) places and no one has called back yet. His problem is that he has no work experience, but he is willing to start off at the lowest position. So I think he will get a job soon.

Alot of our attention has been on the NBA Playoffs. The Dallas Mavericks are playing against the Houston Rockets and its currently at 3-2 in our favor. Of course we want the Mavericks to win. :) Jamie even got to watch the 5th game on Monday which we won, btw. I was very happy for him bc I know he really wanted to go. I love him.

Job Interviews

So I told you how I got sick the night before easter, right? well it started to get worse, so I stayed in bed and drank lots of water. It didnt get any better. In fact it just got worse and worse and worse. Finally I called my family doctor and asked if there was anything I could get prescribed to me to make me better. They told me to call my OB and thankfully she was able to prescribe me some medicine that wont harm the baby. I picked it up yesterday and took my first dose yesterday and my second today. I already feel 60% better. Last night I actually slept for more than an hour at a time! I’m still not completely better, but I know by the end of the z-pack I will be!

I checked my voice mail and it turns out Babies ‘R’ Us called me for an interview. Also, the post office finally sent me a letter with a test date on it for a job. I orginally asked for the test before the new year… I can also call Saltgrass Steakhouse, because they told me they were going to call me back (after I already had an interview) to tell me what positions and such they have open for me. I think they may have called me when my phone was turned off for a day and may have just decided not to call back since it didnt work the first time. The only thing I hate about looking for jobs is when a million people want to hire you and you have to tell all the nice people no. I dont know if I have any of the jobs, but babies r us seemed like they needed help pretty bad, and saltgrass seemed VERY interested. and well, the post office didnt send me the test info until they had a job opening… and all I’d have to do is pass the test (which I believe they gave me a booklet to study with), then I’d have that job.

Which one would you prefer to work for if you were me? I applied at Babies ‘R’ Us because well duh, I’m pregnant. I’m not sure how much they pay, but I’m sure I could use the employee discount to my advantage. My boyfriend went inside to apply at Saltgrass Steakhouse and they offered me an application too. We had interviews on the spot and they only said they were interested in me (I’m sorry honey). I thought this would be a decent job to have, because tips are a nice thing to get and even if I were just a hostess… they get tipped out too. and the sympathy factor may kick in when I start showing even more. lol. but then again, the post office pays over $10/hour (I think its $13 or $16/hour, but I’m not exactly sure) and has very good benefits, which will be helpful.

I dont know. What do you think?
